Ten more cities and municipalities have been added to the election hotspots in Negros Island identified by the Commission on Elections, Armed Forces of the Philippines and National Police.

The Regional Joint Security Control Center of Central Visayas has placed the cities of Guihulngan and Canlaon City, Ayungon, Mabinay, Santa Catalina and Manjuyod in Negros Oriental under Category Red, or areas of grave concern, in connection with the May 13 elections.

In Negros Occidental, the municipality of Moises Padilla was also placed under the Red Category. moremoremore


Talisay bet Lin-ay sang Negros

Quick-witted Roxanne Toleco of Talisay City, whose advocacy on education and the community made her stand out, was crowned Lin-ay sang Negros at the jam-packed Panaad Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, last night.

The 19-year-old psychology student of the University of St. La Salle bested 25 other candidates from the cities and towns of Negros Occidental during the coronation night. She was a crowd favorite as the audience screamed every time she took the stage.

4-day Panaad sales reach P9.4M

The sales generated by the ongoing 26th Panaad sa Negros Festival in Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City had reached P9.40 million as of yesterday.

The sales from the revelry that showcased the "Best of Negros" on the fourth day was P2.18 million. It improved from the previous days although the opening day remained the top grosser with P3.63 million.

Profit on the second day was P2.04 million and P1.29 million on the third day.
