Unity in Oriental, too

Negros Oriental will have a united ticket in 2019, too, Rep. Arnulfo “Arnie” Teves said yesterday.

“Through the efforts of Rep. Albee Benitez Negros Oriental is now united. This will also enhance support for the One Visayas initiative”, he said.

Slaughterhouse production
down 10 percent: plant exec

The AVM Bernardo Engineering, that operates the Bacolod City Slaughterhouse in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City, has reduced its total production by about 10 percent a month, plant manager Glorydee Cometa said.

Cometa said she does not know if this is the effect of inflation, or the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act (TRAIN) Law, or because of illegal slaughtering in Bacolod City. She said she has received reports that there is illegal slaughtering being conducted in the city.

Their estimated production per day is about 300 heads for both hog and large animals, she said.
