Aranas confirms Duterte
MassKara visit Saturday

It’s confirmed. President Rodrigo Duterte is joining the 39th MassKara Festival at the Bacolod Public Plaza tomorrow afternoon.

This was conveyed by Government Service Insurance System President and General Manager Jesus Clint Aranas to Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia yesterday.

Aranas, who invited the president on the request of Leonardia, said Duterte will be at the Bacolod public plaza at 5 p.m., during the schools category MassKara streetdancing and arena competition. moremoremore


Clint quits PDP Laban

Government Service Insurance System president and general manager, Jesus Clint Aranas, yesterday said he has resigned from the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan.

Aranas, who is a Negrense, said he resigned as PDP Laban member, national treasurer and Negros Occidental provincial president, effective October 18.

“I submitted an irrevocable resignation, politics is not in my blood,” Aranas said. moremoremore

Projects to boost sugarcane
production in Negros okayed

The Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines partnered with Sugar Regulatory Administration, the Philippine Sugar Research Institute, and SIMAG Foundation, to create projects to help the sugar farmers in Negros Occidental.

Coca-Cola, together with the executives of three organizations, forged memoranda of understanding in Bacolod City yesterday for the three projects to be implemented in the province, focused on boosting the sugarcane production.

The Foundation signed an MOU with SRA Administrator Hermenegildo Serafica, for the provision of water systems to augment the irrigation requirements of five block farms in Negros Occidental.
