The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office recognized deserving personnel and police stations during the 117th Police Service anniversary yesterday at Camp Francisco Fernandez in Agan-an, Sibulan, with Special Action Force director Noli Taliño as guest of honor.
The awardees were Supt. Bonifacio Tecson as best senior police commissioned officer for operation, Senior Insp. Nathaniel Rubia as best junior PCO for administration, Senior Insp. Elpidio Tagoan Jr. - best junior PCO for operation, SPO4 Helen Grace Alderite - best senior police non-commissioned officer for administration;
SPO1 Jerry Magsayo - best senior PNCO for operation, PO2 Rhesa Gargoles - best junior PNCO for administration, PO3 Antonio Cabatingan - best junior PNCO for operation, SPO4 Zady Delara - best city executive senior police officer, SPO4 Elmer Sagal - best municipal executive senior police officer;
Non-uniformed personnel Ramil Ogabang as best NUP non supervisory level, the Dumaguete Police Station - best city police in Negros Oriental and best unit in illegal drugs accomplishment, Bacong Police Station - best municipal police station, Guihulngan PS - best unit on arrest of wanted persons, and the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, as best in internal security operations.
Taliño said his visit was not just as guest of honor but part of a sentimental journey before he retires in January.
He was the commanding officer of the 2nd special action company of the then Philippine Constabulary-Special Action Force in 1989.
The NORPPO is Taliño’s first visit to his previous assignments as a young lieutenant even if he was not an organic member of PC-INP, headed by then Lt. Col. Ricardo de Leon.
He said he was hoping the awards and recognition will inspire and motivate policemen to work harder to serve and protect the people.*
