A retiring police officer in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, is in hot water for alleged violation of Republic Act 3019, or the Anti-graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and for extortion, under the Revised Penal Code.

SPO1 Roberto Abadiano, 55, of Bayawan City, was accused of these crimes following an entrapment operation conducted by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation yesterday morning.

New hotel to rise in Bacolod
BY MARK L. GARCIA

Another hotel in Bacolod will rise in 2020 and will be integrated with a mall and convention center in the city.

SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. vice president for Marketing, Neil Rumbaoa, announced in a press conference yesterday that a Park Inn by Radisson Hotel will be built beside the SMX Convention Center and SM City Bacolod mall in Bacolod, and is targeted to be finished by the third quarter of 2020.

It will be a 6-storey hotel with 153 rooms. The hotel will complement the convention center and the mall, similar to how other SMHC developments were designed, Rumbaoa said.
