10 businesses to be closed

The head of the Permits and Licensing Division has recommended the closure of about 10 other business establishments in Bacolod City for operating without business permits.

Stela Rose Rayos yesterday said this does not include the two establishments that were closed earlier this month.

Their recommendation for the closure of the 10 establishments is now with the City Legal Office and they are just waiting for its action. These establishments are found near the STI-West Negros University, she said. moremoremore


Awards restore investor
confidence in city: exec

The several awards reaped by Bacolod City have restored investor confidence of the business sector, George Zulueta, City Development Council vice chairman, said yesterday.

Bacolod City ranked number one overall among cities in Western Visayas in the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index of the Department of Trade and Industry in Region 6, and received the award in Iloilo City Friday, Zulueta said.

Bacolod bagged the top award for infrastructure, resiliency, and economic dynamism, in the cities category. Iloilo City was cited for government efficiency where Bacolod ranked second. moremoremore

DOE boosts drive on safe
use of LPG in forum today

A forum on energy conservation and safe use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will be held today at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.

This “Barangay Forum” was organized by the Presidential Communications Operations Office-Philippine Information Agency and the Department of Energy.

It will focus on energy conservation and safe use of LPG and other petroleum products and will be attended by stakeholders in the energy industry.
