A 14-year-old female teenager was found hanging with the use of a shoelace in their house in Bacong, Negros Oriental, Friday.

The body of the victim, whose name the DAILY STAR withheld for being a minor, was discovered by her grandfather.

The Bacong Municipal Police immediately responded after receiving a call from a concerned citizen for assistance, allegedly for a suicide incident.

When they arrived at the victim’s house, the police said she had already been taken down by her grandfather.

She was immediately rushed to a hospital on board a Mahindra Jeep Patrol but was pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician.

The grandfather said that when he arrived at the house, he saw his granddaughter hanging from a lumber truss in the ceiling with a shoelace looped around her neck. He said he untied her and shouted for help from their neighbors, police investigation showed.*RG
