Colors of summer
It was a night of dancing, good food, family, and friends as Helen Geronimo celebrated her 60 th birthday to the ‘60s theme, “Colors of Summer”, in Bacolod City recently.
Although presently based in Manila, the celebrator chose her beloved hometown of Bacolod as venue for this momentous occasion. Surrounded by everyone close to her heart, the celebration was held at the ballroom of L’Fisher Hotel.
More than a hundred guests came to greet the celebrator that night. Jetting in from Manila, Cebu and Zamboanga were the Geronimo family members and friends. The event was organized by Piny Mirano Ocampo, while photos were by King Gicalde. Hosting the celebration was Chaela Ruth Mirano.
The ballroom of L’Fisher Hotel was transformed that night to the colors of summer as it was filled with real plants, trees, and fresh summer flowers. Complementing the décor was the 6-tier birthday cake which was adorned with fresh flowers and hand-painted with summer blooms. Guests were treated to the special drink of the night, the Raffa sparkling wine.
The program started with the entrance of the birthday celebrator, escorted by her son, Harold Geronimo, towards the stage. Helen was a sight to behold in her Avel Bacudio gown, specially made in Manila for the occasion.
There followed the traditional blowing of candles and the toast, led by her two children, Harold and Katherine. Birthday wishes through video recordings were shown on the widescreen during the program that surprised the celebrator as the greetings came from around the world – from relatives and friends from Manila, USA, Canada, Australia, and Dubai. Guests went home full of smiles and happy memories, and personalized chocolate truffles.*
