NHA probing housing woes
of Yolanda victims in NegOcc

A National Housing Authority executive said yesterday that they are investigating the problems of the housing projects for the Yolanda stricken communities in Negros Occidental and have ordered their personnel to look into them.

Its general manager, Marcelino Escalada, said yesterday that he is yet to look into theseissues of people in the Western Visayas who were hit by typhoons Yolanda, Sendong, and Pablo. He also assured that NHA personnel are now equipped to deal with the problems aired by the beneficiaries.

This was after reports came up about initial rejection by some local government units of these housing projects due to lack of basic services like water, that hampers the transfer of thousands of families, more than four years after Yolanda hit the province.

Duterte urges Cebuanos to share oil
resources with Negros, other provinces

President Rodrigo Duterte Saturday congratulated the Cebuanos for the oil and gas production in Alegria, Cebu, and reminded them not to forget to share the resources with nearby provinces like Bohol, Negros, and Leyte.

The President led the ceremonial opening of the oil and gas production of the Alegria Oilfield Polyard-3 Well Site, together with Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, Alegria Mayor Verna Magallon, Cebu 7th District Rep. Peter John Calderon, Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, China International Mining and Petroleum Company Ltd chairman Lam Nam, and Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.

Duterte said Cebuanos can now move forward with their own supply of oil to support the province’s economic development.
