Dads seek sale of idle property
BY CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is urging Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia to fast track the implementation of City Ordinance No. 649, series of 2014 through the Bacolod Housing Authority.

The resolution authored by Councilor Dindo Ramos said C.O. 649 is “An ordinance authorizing the mayor to sell the property consisting of an area of 23,120 square meters and covered by TCT No. T-107139 in barangays 35 and 16, Bacolod City, to the actual occupants who are mostly holders of certificate of perpetual occupancy at an amount not higher than the selling price of the National Housing Authority of its parcel of land adjoining to the subject property and was officially effective July 19, 2013.”

It said the subject parcel of land in C.O. 649, series of 2013, remains an idle property of the city to date because of non-implementation of the ordinance thus, no transaction commenced between the city and the subject beneficiaries.

The resolution said the immediate implementation of C.O. 649 would be mutually beneficial to its target beneficiaries, the almost 600 families who are mostly members of Dreamland People’s Organization and the City of Bacolod.

It said the Bacolod Housing Authority is the most appropriate office to implement the ordinance as part of its mandate.*CGS
