22 families qualify
for relocation site

Twenty-two families, whose houses were destroyed by fire in Purok Kabukiran, Brgy.Taculing, Bacolod City, Sunday, have qualified forlots at the city’s relocation site, Gina Castro, Department of Social Services and Development cluster supervisor, said yesterday.

Castro saidvalidation conducted by social workers showed that there were also nine houses damaged and foursharers affected by the fire.

She said they will finalize the list of the fire victims and endorse it to the Bacolod Housing Authority.

Castro said the fire victims have already left the evacuation center at the Bacolod City National High School and have returned to the site where they have established temporary shelters.

They will all be provided financial assistance by the city.Those whose houses were destroyed will receive P10,000 and those whose houses were damaged will get P5,000, she said.

Castro said she has required the fire victims to submit pictures of their houses and to secure certifications from the DSSD and Bureau of Fire Protection for the processing of their financial assistance.

They need potable drinking water and other basic needs like clothing, and food, she said

They have put up help desks at the site where people can bring their donations for the fire victims. Donors can also give their donations directly to the survivors, or channel them to the DSSD for documentation, Castro added.*CGS
