Another child dies
from dengue CHO


An 11-year-old boy from Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, died of suspected dengue on March 21, Dr. Grace Tan, City Health Office - Environmental Sanitation Division head, said yesterday.

The boy had fever for three days before he was brought to the hospital on March 19. He diedsince he was already in critical condition when brought for treatment.

The other fatalities this year were a 6-year-old boy from Brgy. Estefania who died on March 17 and a 5-year-old boy from Brgy.17, who died on January 2.

The City Health Office has recorded a totalof 155 dengue cases in Bacolod City from January 1 to March 24, which is lower by 30 percent compared to the same period last year.

The barangays with the most number of dengue cases are Sum-ag, Singcang-Airport, Taculing, Villamonte, Handumanan and Alijis.*CGS
