NegOcc ARBs to get CLOA


Department of Agrarian Reform Undersecretary Karlo Bello will lead the distribution of 1,213 hectares of land at the Bacolod Pavillon Hotel in Bacolod City today.

DAR regional director Stephen Leonidas said they will distribute 1,213 has. of land to 1,697 agrarian reform beneficiaries from north and south Negros Occidental.

This is mandated under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program. Negros Occidental has the highest land covered by this program in the country, with almost 300,000 hectares.

Leonidas said Bello, the agency’s undersecretary for field operations, will lead the program and distribute the Certificate of Land Ownership Award to agrarian reform beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, Leonidas also said that DAR held a meeting with various government agencies to resolve some issues regarding land coverage in the Sta. Fe Resort, Bacolod City on Friday.

He said DAR-WV met with representatives from the Land Registration Authority, Land Bank of the Philippines, Registry of Deeds, and the Land Management Services of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Among the issues they discussed were the collective CLOA, valuation of covered areas, approval plans, and approval of survey returns,Leonidas added.*MLG
