Top Ace posts back-to-back win
in ABC-Leads Agri Cup tourney

 

Top Ace notched their second straight win routing Karmex, 77-69, in the ABC-Leads Agri Cup at the Ayala Northpoint Clubhouse in Talisay City, Negros Occidental .

Robby Jalandoon spearheaded Top Ace’s campaign with 22 points putting them momentarily in third place with a 4-3 card.

Karmex came as close to four points at the start of the final period after trailing by as much as 14 points the whole game but Mark Carmona made two quick field goals to give Top Ace some breathing room.

JayR Salga overcame an ankle injury to finish with 16 points while Dario Barba finished with 10. Carmona and Junvel Juayong chipped in 7 points each.

Brian Coo led Karmex (3-3) with 14 points as Miguel Mosquera supported him with 12 markers. Bren Tajonera adder 9 while Dante Ma and Ramon Khey combined for 15 points.

In the second game, Mower came from behind to edge Ignite, 112-106.

With the loss, Ignite dropped its third straight game dimming their hopes of making the semi-final round.

Andrei Dadivas and Richard Arroyo combined for 24 of their team’s 36-point explosion in the final canto to douse off Ignite’s final stand.

Yanyan Dy scattered 29 points to lead Mower (3-3) as Dadivas and Arroyo made 24 and 21 points respectively. Taboy Corriente and Derick Sibug had 7 points each as well.

Arjay Jamero delivered 23 points for Ignite (2-5), Tommy Andren made 22 points while Scott Heria finished in double figures with 11 points. Fernando Noynay, Christian Maravilla and Mark Velez produced 8 points each in their losing effort.*
