Jalandoni anchors Mower win
in ABC-Leads Agri Cup caging

Martin Jalandoni’s turnaround jumper at the buzzer lifted Mower to a 97-96 victory over Leadforce, in the 2nd ABC-Leads Agri Cup at the North Point Gym in Talisay City, Monday night.

Mower survived a furious rally as Leadforce worked their way back from an early 16-point deficit to lead by a point with two seconds remaining.

After the timeout, Jalandoni got the inbound pass at the top of the key and his prayer was answered when his shot hit the back of the rim but the ball bounced high and right back in as time expired.

Marvin Tan paced Mower (4-2) with 25 points on 6 triples, Jalandoni finished with 18, Rixie Ureta added 16 as Boknoy Locsin and Marcos Escalante registered 11 points each. Jake dela Paz and Luigi Coo made 8 points each for the league leaders.

Yanyan Dy led Leadforce (2-3) with 20 points, Richard Arroyo scored 14, Derick Sibug with 12 as Andrew Dadivas and Axo Yao tallied 11 and 10 points respectively. Froilan Fuentes and John Canobis combined for 16 points.

In the second game, Top Ace took advantage of a mental lapse from Ignite with a 117-101 victory in OT.

Top Ace, just like in other games, gave up their lead in the 4th quarter but dodged a bullet as Ignite was not able to convert on their last possession sending the game into overtime.

Robby Jalandoon broke out of the slump to score 9 of his 19 points in overtime including a three pointer that put the game away for good with two minutes remaining.

The Duo of JayR Salga and Dario Barba were unstoppable as they led the scoring parade for Top Ace (3-3) with 31 and 27 points respectively. Popoy Jamero chipped in 11 points while Willy Dasal scored 10 to finish in double figures.

Scott Heria topscored for Ignite (2-4) with 29 points, Titing Cañete added 18 while Christian Maravilla finished with 12 points. Tommy Andren and Arjay Jamero delivered 9 points each.*
