4 Negros bets vie
for Bb. Pilipinas

Four Negros bets will vie for the Binibining Pilipinas title at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City tomorrow.

Vickie Marie Rushton, Annalita Vizcarra, Ena Louise Velasco from Negros Occidental and Trixia Maraña from Negros Oriental are among the 40 candidates this year who will compete for the six Binibining Pilipinas crowns and represent the country in international pageants.

The crowns are for Miss Universe Philippines, Binibining Pilipinas-International, Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational, Binibining Pilipinas-Grand International, Binibining Pilipinas-Globe, and Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental.

Rushton, who represents Talisay City, Neg. Occ., was the Lin-ay sang Negros 2009 at the age of 16, and Mutya ng Pilipinas 2011. She was a former Pinoy Big Brother Housemate and has appeared in ABS-CBN television series “Ang Probinsyano.”

Vizcarra is representing Murcia town in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas. She was the Project Runway Philippines Season 3 winning model, represented her Town in the Lin-ay sang Negros 2014, and was among the final 10 in the pageant.

Maraña, who hails from Dumaguete City, is representing Negros Oriental in the pageant. She was crowned as Miss Asia 2016 in Kerala, India.

Velasco, who was crowned MassKara Queen 2012, is representing Cebu in this national pageantry. She is a medicine graduate of Southwestern University – Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine in Cebu City, and currently taking her post-graduate internship at the Adventist Medical Center Manila.

Rushton, in her Instagram account, said that she is thankful to everyone supporting her in Binibining Pilipinas journey.

Other fan favorite’s candidates in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas competition are Albay’s Catriona Gray who finished among the top 5 in the Miss World 2016, representing the country, and Quezon City’s Michelle Gumabao, a professional volleyball player.

Last year, Rachel Peters was crowned Miss Universe Philippines, Mariel de Leon was Binibining Pilipinas-International, Chanel Olive Thomas Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational, Elizabeth Clenci BinibiningPilipinas-Grand International, Nelda Ibe Binibining Pilipinas-Globe, and Katarina Rodriguez Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental.*MLG
