Fil-Sino Class A title

Silver Graces Construction / Supreme ABF Beer na Beer defeated MSW Bleachers, 85-75, to bag the championship in Class A of the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Cup at the Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym in Bacolod City, Friday.

With their effective outside sniping, MSW Bleachers took the lead in the opening quarter, 29-25, as Mark De La Cruz fired 11 points and Sean Wee and Robbie Jalandoon combining for 11 points. Silver Graces got their offense from Eroll Doromal and Virgilio Dapar, who conspired for 13 points.

In the second quarter, Supreme AF /Silver Graces put the clamps on MSW shooters as Clement John Mandin led a Supreme AF fight back with eight points and Rodolfo Arazo adding five markers to grab the lead at the break, 51-43.

Three costly turnovers by MSW Bleachers at the start of the third quarter allowed Bill Geolingo to score on a layup, sparking a third quarter surge for Silver Graces, who posted a 72-55 lead going to the fourth quarter

A 15-5 run by MSW Bleachers at the start of the fourth quarter cut the lead seven points a 77-70, behind the heroics of Ritchie Militante and Jojo Gabayoyo.

But poor free throw shooting and a couple of crucial turnovers hounded MSW Bleachers as their rally fizzled out. Santos sealed the championship for Silver Graces as he scored four of the last eight points of the team.

Erwilson Santos paced Silver Graces with 19 points as MVP Eroll Doromal added 14 and Tata Javillo with 13 points.

La Cruz finished with 15 points and Wee tallied 14 for MSW Bleachers.

Doromal and Javillo along with Jan Nermal of Singcang Destroyer, Elvin Diaz of Japz Sportswear and Mark De La Cruz of MSW Bleachers were named as members of the Mythical Five Selection.*
