Shabu recovered in Bible

Police recovered alleged shabu hidden in a Bible during a buy-bust operation Wednesday in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, after the arrest of a suspected drug personality.

Nabbed during the operation were Jose Ansuyon and Marvin Dioso.

A gram of suspected shabu, with a market value of P5,000, and a sachet of illegal drugs hidden in a small Bible, a Yamaha MIO motorcycle, P400 in marked money, P200 in cash were recovered from Ansuyon.

Illegal gambling paraphernalia and P351 in alleged gambling bets were also recovered from Dioso, who was also arrested by the police during the buy-bust operation, the Victorias City police said.

Two women identified as Aileen Sabobo, 24, and Maricel Samonte, 33, of Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City, yielded P6,500 worth of suspected shabu and its paraphernalia, as well as P358 in cash.

Sabobo and Samonte are newly-identified drug personalities in Silay City, the police said.

Also arrested was Jesus Utana during a buy-bust operation Wednesday in Brgy. 6, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Three sachets of suspected shabu, P4,637 in cash, P100 in marked money, two cellular phones and assorted shabu paraphernalia were recovered by the police from Utana, 31, who is now in jail.

The confiscated shabu has an estimated market value of P11,000.*GPB
