47 policemen train
in close quarter battle


Forty-seven police officers in Negros Occidental have been trained in close quarter battle, that include hostage rescue operations.

The participants, who graduated from a 30-day training, are police personnel assigned at the Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, including two female police officers, and the Himamaylan City Police Station.

Police Inspector Charmae De Paz, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said yesterday that the 30-day Close Quarter Battle basic course,included hostage rescue and negotiation, building entry and assault, responding to robbery-hold-up incidents and other man-made crisis.

Awards were given to PO2 Nobel Perante as “Top Gun-Pistol”, PO1 Angelio S Totantes II as “Top Gun-Rifle”, PO1 Nikko C Motic as “Strong Man”, and Team 5 as “Best Team.”

They graduated Wednesday from the 30- day CQB course held inBrgy. Gargato, Hinigaran, that was also attended by Senior Supt. Jesus Cambay, deputy regional director for Operations of Police Regional Office 6, and Senior Supt. Rodolfo Castil, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, among others.

The graduates form part of the 2nd batch of Negrense policemen and women trained in CQB.*GPB
