The province of Negros Occidental and the municipality of La Castellana are co-exhibitors representing the Philippines in the Internationale Tourismus Borse (ITB) that is ongoing in Berlin, Germany until March 11, a Capitol press release said.
The event, that opened Wednesday, is participated in by 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries in the world, where most of the exhibitors are travel agencies, tour operators, booking system developers, airlines, hotels, and other tourism business services around the world.
The municipality of La Castellana, led by Mayor Rhumyla Mangilimutan, is the only exhibitor representing a local government unit, and was invited through the Tourism Promotions Board, in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Tourism Frankfurt Office, the press release said.
The ITB Berlin influences travel experiences worldwide, and is conceived as an effective business to business platform providing trade visitors an ample opportunity to expand their contract and do business.
The Philippines’ participation in the ITB aims to showcase cross promotion of the Philippine tourism destinations, trade products and services, and latest developments in the tourism industry that would position the country as an attractive and competitive destination, the press release added.*
