The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental yesterday approved three supplemental budgets of the province, with a total of P600,996,189, to finance the upgrading of government hospitals and purchase of medical equipment and ambulances.
Of the approved supplemental budgets, the Hospital Operation Department(HOD) got P358,354,428, with 33 million earmarked for the purchase of ambulances, P20 million for medical equipment, P15 million for No Balance Billing, P10 million for Point of Care Program, P5 million each for office and information communication technology equipment.
The Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City got a budget of P18.3 million for the establishment of hemodialysis, physical theraphy, radiology clinics, rewiring of its ground floor, rehabilitation of fire detection and alarm system, main water line and establishment of water filtration, as well as rehabilitation and renovation of the hospital.
The Ignacio Arroyo District Hospital in Isabela, Negros Occidental, will have a lead sheet installed at its X-ray room at a budget of P1.8 million, while P10.4 million has been earmarked for the rehabilitation and renovation of the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, with additional funds for its information system.
A budget of P2,720,000 has been allocated to fund the construction of an elevated tank and deep well for the Merceditas Montilla District Hospital in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
The amount of P231,633,732 went to interfund transfer to general fund.
Board Member Salvador Escalante, chairperson of the SP committee on Finance, said yesterday that the source of the 2018 supplemental budget number of HOD was taken from the savings from its P1.5 billion budget last year.
The HOD had savings of P369,741,852.86 last year, according to Escalante.
Of the P231,633,732 supplemental budget number three of the province, P80 million has been allocated to grants and donations, P50 million for the purchase of land, P40 million for peace and order fund, P30 million for the subsidy to local government units, P15 million for the Pana-ad sa Negros Festival, P10.6 million for the construction and renovation of Negros First Hostel, P3.2 million for Negros First Cyber Center and P2.7 million for the purchase of vehicle.
The approved 2018 supplemental budget number 1 of the Economic Enterprise Development Department in the amount of P11,008,029 has been allocated also for the purchase of vehicle – P1.9M, while P9,108,029 was also earmarked for the construction and renovation of hotel and convention center at the Mambukal Mountain Resort, construction and renovation of tourist lodge as well for trailer mounted generator.*GPB
