The Sugar Regulatory Administration will hold the 1 st Philippine Sugarcane Industry Mechanization Expo, on the theme “Increasing Productivity through Mechanization”, on March 12-16, at the SRA compound in Araneta Street, Singcang, Bacolod City, with Senator Sonny Angara and Secretary Emmanuel Piñol of the Department of Agriculture, as guests of honor, a press release from SRA said.
It will be followed by the opening of exhibits and product presentations through video and other media by the exhibitors of tractors and implements, among others.
Exhibits are open to the public for free, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., for the duration of the expo, the press release said.
Other activities are a tractor derby/field demo of farm power, machineries, and equipment in the morning of March 13, at the SRA Alijis nursery, and product presentations of harvesters and cane loaders in the afternoon, at the SRA Social Hall;
Field demonstrations of sugarcane harvesters and loaders at Hda. Fe, La Carlota City/Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City/and Murcia, March 14; technical presentations on trichograma production, sugarcane tissue culture and AID Foundation ram pump irrigation as well as open house of soils and sugar laboratories in the morning of March 15, and product presentations by other exhibitors in the afternoon at the SRA Social Hall.
On March 16, there will be a business summit, presentations by banks and other financial institutions, Philsucor, as well as exhibitors/customers/financer’s interaction at negotiating rooms to be provided by SRA in the morning, and in the afternoon, the launching of the Sugarcane Industry Development Act Socialized Credit Program.
Guests of honor during the launching will be Senator Cynthia Villar, and Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District), the press release said.
The exhibitors’ night and closing program is set 6 p.m. on March 16 at the SRA Social Hall, the press release added.*
