Cop jailed for death in mishap

 

A neophyte policeman is now in jail, for the death of a 52-year-old man on Sunday resulting from a vehicular accident in Brgy. Vista Alegre, Ilog, Negros Occidental.

Police Officer 1 Dale Grijaldo was driving a Kawasaki KLX 150 motorcycle, when he sideswiped the victim identified as Romeo Tabuga, who suddenly crossed the road, investigations of the Ilog police showed.

Tabuga, 52, was declared dead on arrival at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, while Grijaldo, who is assigned at the Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, is now detained at the Ilog police jail.

A certain Vicente Sedantes sustained multiple injuries, after his motorcycle hit the rear portion of an Isuzo truck, that was parked beside the highway shoulder road in Brgy. Zone 14B, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Investigations of the Talisay police showed that Sedantes, of Brgy. Bagtic, Silay City, was observed to be under the influence of liquor, when he was being treated at the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City.*GPB
