Ceneco, HandBac teams
post win in EBC Cup 2018

 

Ceneco Blackout snatched the game from JAKA/HEI, 70-66, while HandBac survived Karmex Gold/ Seattle's Best, 101-98, latest results from the EBC Cup 1st Tournament in Manville Subdivision, Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, showed.

Francis Gomez and Arman Pepino combined for 30 points to rally from 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to outlast JAKA/HEI in a battle of the undefeated.

Guillermo Legarda and Ariel Tornilla both scored 17 points in a losing effort for JAKA/HEI.

In the first game, Avelino Auriño scored 34 points to power HandBac for their first win at the hands of Karmex Gold/Seattle's Best. He got support from Julius Cagayan and Omar Polvorosa, who both netted 17 points.

Jonart Versoza and Titing Cañete of Karmex Gold both scored 24 points to tie the game at 96-all in the final minute from a 12-point deficit but HandBac converted all their crucial freethrows down the stretch for the win.

In their previous games, Ceneco relied on Francis Gomez and Paolo Mino, who scored 16 and 14 respectively, to lead Ceneco past an undermanned KAL/Avescor/Nirvana, 85-71, spoiling Buthchoy Dahili's 22-point performance.

Against Karmex Gold, J. Utana and R. Lim combined for 30 points to deliver the team to a 79-69 victory.*
