Rep. Arnulfo Teves (Neg. Or., 3rd District) yesterday challenged Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office director Sandra Cam to prove her claim that he is a gambling operator in Negros Oriental and he will resign, but if she fails todo so, she should quit her job.
Cam accused Teves of being a gambling operator at a House Committee on Games and Amusement hearing on Small Town Lottery operations yesterday.
Teves told the DAILY STAR that for all of Cam’s accusations, not just against him, she should bring documentary evidence to prove her claims.
“I challenged Sandra Cam to substantiate all her claims with real concrete documentary evidence,”Teves said.
“If she can prove her claims, especially against me, I will resign. However, if she cannot prove her claims, she should resign,” he said.
He said Camshould also prove her claim that jueteng in Pangasinan has P500 million gross sales a month.
“In the past many weeks she has been all talk, she has been destroying a lot of people without proof…everything is like fake news, she should substantiate her claims so people will believe her,” Teves aid.
Cam, in response, said “No problem, I will call that.”
“I’m challenging you Mr. Teves, prove to me na hindi ka nga operator ng Negros kasi may mga ebidensya ako kaya nga kayo nag-away ng gobernadora n’yo doon (prove to me that you are not an operator in Negros because I have evidence, that is why you are fighting with the governor there),” Cam said at the hearing.
Cam has alleged that so-called gaming lords have been using STL as front forjueteng, resulting to loss in government revenue.*CPG
