St. Scholastica’s Academy Batch 1993 recently celebrated their silver high school anniversary with a spectacular Grammy Awards Night-inspired show, entitled “Bedazzled”.

Setting up the bedazzling fever that night was Mr. Pure Energy himself, Gary Valenciano, along with his 90s dance group, the Manoeuvers. Alumnae from SSA Batch 1986, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1998, 2003, 2008, and 2013 likewise rendered equally energized performances as they danced to the various Grammy’s award winning music of their times.

This milestone event was spearheaded by Batch 93 president Tippi Cuaycong-Jalandoni and directed by Rene Hinojales. The show was hosted by brother and sister duo JM and Katrina Rodriguez-Jimenez, who is also part of Batch ’93. The sold-out spectacle is for the benefit of St. Scholastica’s Academy.

It was a spectacular sight when SSA’s wired costumes and glow-in-the-dark shoes lighted up the stage, creating that magical atmosphere fit for wrapping up this superb show. Batch 93 alumnae from all over the Philippines, USA, Singapore, and Dubai then joined their batchmates’ captivating dance, giving the audience of the jam-packed ballroom a show-stopping synchronized flash mob-style performance. It was a sight to behold as it was a fusion of Batch 93 performers in their dance costumes and Batch 93 usherettes in gowns and formal outfits.

The rest of the excitement continued with Gary V and after-party jamming with attendees and guests dancing the night away. The Silver Jubilarians of SSA Batch 1993 thanked everyone who supported the show, especially the Benedictine nuns and teachers, who gave them their roots and wings.*
