vs. hospital closure

President Rodrigo Duterte’s help is being sought to prevent the closure of the Bacolod Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital in Bacolod City, while two congressmen and Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia are looking into the problem.

Dr. Nestor Amante, president and chief executive officer of BOLMSH – Negros Healthcare Management Systems Inc., has served notice to Regional Director Johnson Cañete of the Department of Labor and Employment 6 that effective June 19, Tuesday, the hospital was no longer accepting patients and was winding down operations.

He also informed Cañete that the hospital employees were notified that their employment with the hospital will be terminated 30 days after oral or written notice. moremoremore


Police seize more
than P1M in shabu

More than P1million worth of suspected shabu was seized from the wife of a high-value target during a buy-bust operation at Charito Heights Subdivision in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, at about 8:30 last night.

Eighteen plastic sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item, were seized from Myla Velano, who is classified as a newly-identified drug personality, a report from Police Regional Office-6, said.

Operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the operation against Velano, the wife of an HVT suspect, who is now at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa, but whose name was not disclosed, the police said. moremoremore

Bacolod companies urged
to promote bizness online

An online advertising expert urged establishments in Bacolod City to consider promoting online ads and do the right content for their customers to be more engaged in their products and services.

Mike David, co-founder of David&Golyat, a digital strategy-consulting firm in the country, said yesterday that their customers, apart from reading advertisements on posters or newspapers, or hearing it through radio and television, are already engaged online.

He was in Bacolod City to discuss Globe Telecom’s digital talk on online media consumption in the country and maximizing reach for online channels as well as to introduce the company’s “Time Please”, a nationwide volunteering program, in partnership with The Walt Disney Company.
