LGUs urged to create posts
for agri-engineers in Negros

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist is urging all the local government units in Negros Occidental to create positions for agriculture and biosystems engineers to ensure implementation of programs like irrigation, farm mechanization and other agri-infrastructure projects in their locality.

Provincial Agriculturist Japhet Masculino said yesterday that most of the projects include agriculture infrastructures, so every town and city should have its own agriculture engineer as one is needed to implement it.

The Professional Regulation Commission Board of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers led by chairman Ariodear Rico paid a courtesy call on Gov. Alfredo Marañon yesterday and discussed ways to strengthen the Agricultural Engineering Division of the province.
