‘Arrogant’ city worker
faces complaint

A representative of one of the top 10 corporate taxpayers of Bacolod City complained about the arrogant treatment of a female employee of Bacolod City during their application for a business permit, Sammy Montoyo, Anti-Red Tape Act Core Team member, said yesterday.

Montoyo said he already has copies of the police blotter and affidavits and that the core team has recommended actions to be taken against the female employee.

He said the ARTA Core Team has recommended that the concerned employee be reprimanded, or re-assigned to another post, and be made to undergo orientation/training for customer or clientele relation.

They received the complaint last month from the owner of several food chains and a hotel in Bacolod, he added.

Montoyo said Bacolod City had been given the title “The Most Business-Friendly City in the Philippines” and “Most Livable City” so they should live up to it.

He is urging the employees, especially the frontliners, to give all due respect to taxpayers because they are the ones paying taxes for programs and projects that had brought so many awards and recognitions for the city, he said.

Montoyo said they are supposed to give service to the people particularly to the taxpayers. He is also reminding them to give all the respect due to the taxpayers, because they are the ones who have helped bring the city to where it is now.

He said the ARTA Core Team has made its recommendation to the mayor on what actions to be taken against the concerned employee. They will not hesitate to recommend disciplinary actions against any employee, whether they are friend or foe, and regardless of their political affiliation.*CGS
