Winds destroy houses,
floods spur evacuation

Floods and strong winds destroyed houses, triggered evacuations and the cancellation of classes in some areas in Negros Occidental yesterday.
Bago Mayor Nicholas Yulo said strong winds destroyed four houses in Purok Balinghoy, Barangay Busay, Bago City, at about 10:12 a.m. yesterday.

The bodies of three persons believed to have drowned, were found in Negros Occidental last week.
A cadaver was found floating Sunday at the Ayungon river in Brgy. Batuan, San Enrique, Negros Occidental.But his identity has not yet been established by the police. He was described by the San Enrique police to be wearing a V-neck T-shirt and brown six-pocket shorts.

MSMEs July 19-23, DTI says

DUMAGUETE CITY – Micro, small and medium enterprises in Negros Oriental will take center stage in the five-day Negros Island Trade Fair 2018 to be held in the city from July 19-23.
Maribel Sumanoy, senior trade and industry specialist of the Department of Trade and Industry provincial office, said yesterday the trade fair will reel off with a program on Thursday at The Market Place in Dumaguete City.Twenty-eight booths will be set up to feature the different MSMEs in the province, as well as guest exhibitors, Sumanoy said.
