Lopue's La Salle paddlers qualify
for 2018 Junior's SEATTA tourney

Three table tennis players of the Lopue's La Salle team booked a spot in the in the 2018 Junior's Southeast Asian Table Tennis Association (SEATTA) after an impressive performance in the Best of the Best Table Tennis Championship held at during the weekend in Manila.

Micah Tanate, Stephanie Villanueva, and Neil John Lauren finished in the the top 8 of the Best of the Best tournament to qualify for the SEATTA scheduled this July in the country.

Tanate, topped her qualifying bracket and finished No. 3 while Stephanie Villanueva, second in her bracket, landed in 5th place in the 15 and Under Cadet Girls of the Best of the Best event.

Neil John Lauren managed to be on top of his bracket and ended secured the No. 8 spot in the 18 under Junior Boys. The top 8 players automatically qualified for the SEATTA.

Playing among the best table tennis players in the country, the three young paddlers from Bacolod City held their ground and displayed the homegrown skills that earned them multiple medals from local and national tournaments.

Sharing the limelight with the three SEATTA qualifiers was Coach Marell Lagunday, who placed third in the Women's Open category.

Lagunday steered Lopue's - La Salle to a victorious finished in the 2017 University Games, NOPSSCEA, Negros Occidental Provincial Meet, Batang Pinoy, and Jawad's Cup, last year.

Tanate, Villanueva, and Lauren will have their ranking in May 2018in preparation for the Junior SEATTA event.*
