2 injured in buy-bust shooting

Two persons were wounded in a firefight with the police during a buy-bust operation, that yielded 12 sachets of suspected shabu and marijuana at Zone 5, AbadaEscay, in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, at about 9 p.m. Sunday.

Francis Bravo, alias “Aprang”, 28, of Barangay Estefania in Bacolod, and Jimmy Deker, 31, of Barangay Vista Alegre, sustained gunshot wounds on their shoulders and were brought to the Corazon LocsinMontelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, a police report said yesterday.

Investigation showed that policemen from stations 5 and 7 conducted a buy-bust operation against HenjieMosquida, 40, of Barangay Vista Alegre.

However, Mosquida, who received the P300 in marked money in exchange for a sachet of suspected shabu from the poseur-buyer, sensed the presence of the police and ran, police records show.

Bravo and Deker, who were in the house andarmed with an improvised shotgun, opened fire at the police butdid not hit them.The police retaliated and hit Bravo and Deker instead, police records said.

Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered three fired cartridge cases of 9mm guns, an improvised firearm loaded with a fired cartridge case of 12-gauge shotgun, three live ammunition of a 12-gauge shotgun, another improvised shotgun, a fired cartridge case of a .45 caliber pistol, five improvised tooters, suspected marijuana, 10 sachets of suspected shabu, anda shotgun shell, police records show.

The police said they also seized a sachet of suspected shabu as buy-bust item, P300 in marked money, three cellular phones, several drugs paraphernalia, and P1,370 in cash.*SGG
