Bill converting WVSU
Himamaylan campus ok'd

Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate (Bayan Muna partylist) welcomed the passage of House Bill 3910 in the Committee on Higher and Technical Education yesterday.

HB3910 aims to convert the West Visayas State University Extension in Himamaylan, Negros Occidental into a regular campus of the West Visayas State University, a press release form Zarate said.

The conversion of the Himamaylan campus of WVSU into a regular campus will provide accessible university education for locals, with larger course offerings and budget to take in more students. Its passage will also provide an affordable quality education in one of the poorest provinces in the country, he said.

Zarate said he hopes that the Senate will also expedite its passage, and its immediate approval into law.*
