Medel triples lift Sunkist
over Creamy Delight, 87-55

Gerson Medel back-to-back triples late in the fourth quarter to help Sunkist rally past Creamy Delight, 87-85, in Class B of the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Cup held Friday night at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Medel's 3-point explosion was aided by a 4-point production from Chris Javelosa as Sunkist dropped a 10-0 bomb with four minutes left to stop Creamy Delight.

Javelosa canned two pressure- packed free throws after a botched attempt from Creamy Delight, and scored an undergoal stab with four seconds left to complete the comeback win.

Sunkist took a 44-33 lead at the break as Monroe Chua knocked down 9 points and Ruel Bahian with 8 points.

Creamy Delight cut down the lead to 62-65 courtesy of Carmelo Ruiz and Kirk Morales in the third quarter.

Jessie Moreño knocked down three triples and and Ruiz added 9 points to turn things around for Creamy Delight but luck was not on their side.

Medel topscored for Sunkist with 19 points, Buhian added 18, Lito Dumdum dropped 13 points, Javelosa finished with 12, and Chua added 11 points.

Carmelo Ruiz led Creamy Delight with 22 points, Kirk Morales shot 13, Moreño with 12 points and Nestor Esmena contributed 11 points.

It was a back-to-back loss for Creamy Delight after a falling to Cobra, 72-74. Cobra also rallied behind the back to back trifles of Bobil Alagaban.

In other games, Summit outscored Barista in all quarters to pull away with an 86-63 victory and Vitamilk outscored Absolute in the first three quarters to complete a 77-63 win.*
