Bacolod SP seeks implementation
of sports development ordinance

A resolution requesting the Office of Mayor EvelioLeonardia and all barangay captains of Bacolod City to implement the Palarong Pambarangay and Palarong Pambacolod as provided for in City Ordinance No. 568, series of 2011, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.

The resolution authored by Councilor Caesar Distrito said the holding of the PalarongPambarangay (barangay games) in every barangay and the Palarong Bacolod (Bacolod games) preferably in the month of May is provided in C.O. 568 or "The Bacolod Sports and Development Ordinance of 2011".

It said there are so many sports enthusiasts and aspiring athletes in the city with very promising talents that have yet to be discovered and the implementation of these sports projects will serve as a venue for them to be known and bring them closer to rewarding opportunities.

Summit, Absolute dribblers
post win in Fil-Sino Class B

Summit needed an extra time to beat Vitamilk, 88-78, while Absolute routed Barista, 91-69, in the Class B division of the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Cup Basketball Tournament at theTay Tung High School Po Hang Gym in Bacolod City.

Up by 5 points going into the fourth quarter at 60-55, Summit found themselves in trouble as Richard Co and RinenMiag-ao of Vitamilkcombined for 13 points to tie the score at 74-all and force an overtime.

Summit regained their composure in the extra time while Vitamilk sputtered and came up with a measly 4-point production allowing Summit to get away wit the win.

PSC-Pacquiao boxing tournament
goes to Sorsogon for Luzon prelim

The nationwide 2018 PSC-Pacquiao Amateur Boxing Cup resumes hostilities with the Luzon Preliminary this weekend at the Sorsogon National High School in Sorsogon City.

“The winners will advance into the Quarter Finals slated on February 24 and 25 in Lucena City,” said tournament director RogerFortaleza.

The Luzon semi-finals will be on March 17 in Pangasinan while the Luzon Finals is slated April 7 in Baguio City.
