Fast craft slams dock,
40 brought to hospital

About 40 passengers were brought to the hospital after the Ocean Jet fast craft they were riding on hit the dock of the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation port at the Reclamation Area in Bacolod City, at about 6:15 p.m. yesterday.

Lt. Jimmy Oliver Vingno, Philippine Coast Guard-Bacolod head, said the throttle of the Ocean Jet 7 malfunctioned about 50 meters away from the BREDCO port.

Most of the passengers suffered dizziness and some hadminor scratches. They were brought to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, Vingno said.

As of 8 last night, only 18 of the patients were still at the hospital as most of them hadalready been released, he said.

The Ocean Jet vesselwas on its last trip for the day from Iloilo to Bacolod.*SGG
