The Jr. NBA Philippines 2018 Regional Selection Camp (RSC) for Negros Occidental will be hosted by Trinity Christian School in Bacolod City from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 10.
The regional selection camp is open to boys and girls, 10 to 14 years old, or born from Year 2004 to 2008.
Prior to the RSC, Jr. NBA Philippines coordinators will hold a coaches clinic, also at the Trinity Christian School, on Feb. 5 from 5 pm.
On Feb. 3 and 4, the group will be at the Talisay City Gym for a school/cluster clinics from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first day and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second day.
From Talisay, the Jr. NBA Philippines coordinators will proceed to Silay City for another two-day basketball clinic at Natalio G. Velez Gym.
Now on its 10 th year, the Jr. NBA Philippines is a grassroots program for boys and girls between 10 to 14 years old offering basketball clinics and training camps to communities, promoting fitness and healthy lifestyle to children and their parents.
Participation in the training sessions is free.
Last year, Joshua Benedict Baldonado of St. John's Institute was tapped to join the 2017 Jr. NBA national training camp after an impressive performance at the Cebu Regional Selection Camp.
In 2016, Fritz Felix Valencia and Harold Alarcon of Bacolod Tay Tung High School and Andrei Philip Lechoncito of SJI also made it to the Jr. NBA All Stars.
Since it was launched in the Philippines in 2008, other players from NegrosOccidental were named into the Jr. NBA All Stars. They are: Kib Montalbo, now with the La Salle Archers, SJ Belangel of the Ateneo Blue Eaglets, Andre Velasco, and Daniel Coo.*NAB
