Army's 79 th IB gets
new commander
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The Army's 79th Infantry Battalion in Negros Occidental has a new commander.

Lt. Col. Emelito Thaddeus Logan formally assumed command of the 79th Infantry Battalion on Thursday in Brgy. Bato, Sagay City,

Logan replaced Lt. Col. Roderick Garcia, who had served as 79IB commander for two years, in a change of command ceremony Thursday, presided over by Brig. Gen. Dinoh Dolina, 3rd Infantry Division commander.

Capt. Eduardo Precioso, 3ID Public Affairs Office chief, yesterday said that Logan used to be the deputy for the Assistant chief of staff for Operations of 3ID and executive officer of the 12th Infantry (Cadre) Battalion.

Garcia, meanwhile, is up for a higher position, Precioso said.

Logan and Garcia are both members of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1994.

The 79IB is one of the two Army battalions presently deployed in Negros Island, the other is the 62nd Infantry Battalion. * GPB
