Degamo retakes Capitol,
revokes Macias orders

Roel Degamo is officially back as governor of Negros Oriental after the expiration of the 90-day preventive suspension issued by the Sandiganbayan, and after securing a temporary restraining order from the Court of Appeals against the dismissal ordered by the Office of the Ombudsman.

P11.8M in shabu seized

BOSS extended to Feb. 28

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod approved the request of Mayor Evelio Leonardia to extend the January 20 deadline for the payment of business permits to February 28 , d uring its regular session yesterday.

Councilor Caesar Distrito, chairperson of the SP Committee on Laws, Ordinances and Good Government, authored the extension of the filing of business permits and the payment of the first quarter business tax.

“The extension will, in effect, exempt businesses that failed to secure business permits from payment of penalties and surcharges,” he said.
