Transport groups seek diesel discounts: Undoc

Transport groups joining a nationwide protest on January 24 are demanding a P6 per liter discount on the 30 liters of diesel they consume per day, Se cretary General Diego Malacad of the United Negros Drivers and Operators Center said yesterday.

The t ransport group Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operators Nationwide (PISTON) will spearhead a protest against the government's public utility vehicle (PUV) modernization program.

Malacad said they are protesting the diesel rates that will be driven up by the  Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Act and world market prices.

He said UNDOC's participation in the nationwide protest will be decided after a local consultation.*CPG
