9 police chiefs get medals

Nine police chiefs in Negros Occidental were among the 44 “performing police personnel” of Western Visayas, who were honored yesterday at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

The outstanding police personnel, who include Supt. Noel Polines – Silay City, Supt. D Artagnan Katalbas Jr. – San Carlos City, Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto – Sagay City, Chief Inspector Joefer Cabural – Bago City, Senior Inspector Leomel Gonzaga – Hinobaan, Senior Inspector Junji Liba- Valladolid, Senior Inspector Joevito Bose- Salvador Benedicto, Senior Inspector Jayrick Bermudez – Candoni and Senior Inspector Ryan Salazar – Pontevedra, were conferred yesterday with the Medalyang Papuri during the traditional flag-raising ceremony in Iloilo City.

Supt. Gilbert Gorero, PRO 6 Regional Public Information Officer, said that the 44 police commissioned officers were awarded for their competence and commendable performance as chiefs of police, making Western Visayas rank third among 46 local government unit passers among 448 awardees of LGUs all over the country.

Gorero said the test of good governance, one of the criteria for which is peace and order is that, their respective LGUs earned the much-coveted Seal of Good Local Governance.

Senior Supt. Jesus Cambay, deputy regional director for Operations of PRO 6, led the distribution of medals to Region 6 outstanding police personnel.* GPB
