The Philippine Army chief of Negros Island has been promoted and Brig. Gen. Eliezer Losanes now joins other members of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1985 with the rank of general.
Losanes was accorded with arrival honors Saturday by members of the 303rd Infantry Brigade on Saturday at Camp Major Nelson Gerona in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia.
Other members of PMA Class 1985 assigned in Western Visayas are Brig. Gen. Dinoh Dolina, 3rd Infantry Division commanding general, and his deputy, Brig. Gen. Francisco Delfin, who previously served as commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade.
Lt. Gen. Rolando Joselito Bautista, who installed Dolina on Dec. 29 as 3ID commander, is presently the commanding general of the Philippine Army.
Losanes supervises the 62nd and 79th Infantry Battalions, as well as the 1st and 2nd Negros Island Geographical Battalions, in the conduct of internal security operations in Negros Island.
On Monday,Bautista led the pinning of stars on the five newly promoted generals, who includeLosanes, Maj. Gen. Roseller Murillo, 1st Infantry Division commander, Brig. Generals Felimon Mamaril Jr., Alden Juan Masagca, and Leopoldo Imbang, in a ceremony held at Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City.
Bautista, in his message during the activity, congratulated the five-newly promoted generals. “Keep up the good work as agents of transformation, and continue to guide our organization towards its goal of a world-class Army that is a source of national pride,” he added.
