Flood wrecks houses,
boats in Victorias
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Floods that hit Victorias City Friday left 10 houses destroyed and 68 damaged, Victorias City Administrator Dino Acuña said Saturday.

Eleven fishing boats were also damaged, he said.

The floods that hit 17 of the 26 barangays of Victorias affected 3,625 families and 588 evacuated, he added.

Flooding brought on by heavy rains caused floods in Victorias, Talisay and Silay cities and EB Magalona town Friday.

Zeaphard Gerhart  Caelian , Negros Occidental Disaster Management Program Division head, said the heavy rains that caused the flooding were triggered by the northeast monsoon and the tail-end of a cold front.*CPG
