The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved 1,065 resolutions and 27 ordinances in 2017, a report from the SP secretary, lawyer Maki-Angel Ascalon, showed yesterday.
Among the 14 board members Salvador Escalante (2 nd district) had the most number of approved resolutions and ordinances at 572, while David Albert Lacson (3 rd District) had the least at 5.
Escalante, committees on Finance, Ways and Means, and Human Resources chair, authored 549 resolutions and 23 ordinances.
In second place was AlainGatuslao (5 th District), committee on Laws, Rules and Ordinances, and Cooperatives chair, with 206 resolutions and 2 ordinances approved.
Helen Zafra, committees on Health and Social Services, Women and Family Welfare and Negros Child chair, had 131 resolutions; Pedro Zayco (6 th District), committees on Education and ICT chair – 34 resolutions;
Victor Javellana (4 th District), committees on Food and Agriculture, and Tourism,Trade and Industry, and Commerce chair – 23 resolutions and 1 ordinance;Samson Mirhan (2 nd District), committees on Natural Disasters and Calamities, and Oversight chair – 24 resolutions;
Rommel Debulgado (1 st District), committees on Environment Protection, and Internal Ethics chair – 22 resolutions; Antonio Encarguez(1 st District), committees on Senior Citizens and Investment Promotions chair – 21 resolutions;
Manuel Frederick Ko (3 rd District), committees on Energy, Public Utilities and Transportation, and Games and Amusement chair - 13 resolutions;Jose Maria Alonso (4 th District) – committees on Labor and Employment, Public Works , Housing and Land Use chair – 10 resolutions;
Valentino Miguel Alonso (Philippine Councilors League), committees on Internal Relations, and History, Arts and Culture chair – 9 resolutions and one ordinance; Annabelle Bermudo (Association of Barangay Captains), committees of Government Enterprise and Privatization, and Barangay Affairs chair - 9 resolutions;
Renato Malabor Jr. ( 5 th District), committees on Youth and Sports Development, and Human Rights chair – 9 resolutions; and Lacson - committees on Peace and Order, and Good Government chair – 5 resolutions.*CPG
