A resolution urging the Management Information Technology and Computer Services, through officer-in-charge, Ramon Delos Reyes, to implement the Electronic Business Permits and Licensing System, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.
The resolution, authored by Councilor Em Ang said the Department of Information and Communications Technology has developed a cloud-based Electronic Business Permits and Licensing System software that enables local government units to process applications for new and renewal of business permits electronically.
It said Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1 series of 2016 of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Trade and Industry, and DICT, urged all LGUs to implement the E-BPLS in compliance with the call of the President to reduce the requirements and processing time of all government transactions.
There is a need to implement the E-BPLS in Bacolod City to make business permit registration faster and more efficient and convenient to clients, the resolution added.*CGS
