Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will benefit from P580 million approved for 15 projects under the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program for 2018.
The P580 million is part of the P3.4 billion proposed for the 15 road projects targeted for completion in 2022 under the Department of Tourism-Department of Public Works and Highways Convergence Program, provincial tourism officer Cristine Mansinares said yesterday.
Two projects for Bacolod City have a proposed amount of P415 million, of which P90 million was allocated for 2018 to improve Hernaez Street leading to Murcia, and the Bacolod City boundary road from Arceo proper in Barangay Alangilan, leading to the Campuestohan Highland Resort.
In the Second District of Negros Occidental P100 million was allocated for 2018 for the concrete reconstruction of the access roads leading to the Lakawon Island Resort in Cadiz City, to barangays Puey and Bato in Sagay City, to Pacol Falls, Alimatoc Rice Terraces and the Prayer Mountain in Cadiz City, and to Bulanon-PurokBangcal, Sagay City.
The four projects cover a span of 24 kilometers with a proposed total cost of P775 million.
In the Third District of Negros Occidental P100 million was allocated for the concrete reconstruction of the Bangga Dose-First Farmers'Mill-Barangay Concepcion Tourism Road in Talisay City, and the access road leading to the Imbang San Fernando-Tunangan Road in Talisay.
The two projects covering 34 kilometers have a total proposed cost of P758 .4 million.
The concreting of two roads in the Fourth District of Negros Occidental covering 13.582 kilometers was allocated P100 million for 2018.
They are the Alianza-Ayungon-La Carlota Road leading to either the Bantayan Park or BalayDaku in Bago City, and the Mailum-Pataan Road leading to the Pataan and Tinago Mountain Resort in Bago City that have a total proposed cost of P253 million until completion in 2022.
In the Fifth District of Negros Occidental P100 million was allocated for the upgrading of the access road leading to the Binadlan Falls in Binalbagan in 2018. The project has a proposed total cost of P711 million.
In the Sixth District of Negros Occidental P90 million has been allocated in 2018 for the concreting and improvement of the Kabankalan-Bais National Primary Road leading to Mag-aso Falls in Kabankalan City, the Bacolod South National Road leading to the DaanBanwa bird watching area in Kabankalan City;
The Bacolod South National Road leading to the MaricalumPort toCampomanes Bay in Sipalay City, and Bacolod South National Road leading to the Sugar Beach Resort and Langub Beach Resort in Sipalay City.
The four projects covering 16.1 kilometers have a total proposed cost of P559 million.*CPG
