A husband allegedly stabbed his wife dead at almost midnight Tuesday in La Castellana, while a man killed his brother in Cauayan, all in Negros Occidental.
Jenny Legaspi, 46, died, after being repeatedly stabbed by her husband, Juanito, in front of their child in Brgy. Camandag, La Castellana, the police said yesterday.
La Castellana police investigation showed that Juanito was under the influence of liquor, when he stabbed his wife, following a heated altercation.
Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, La Castellana police chief, said the suspect even told their 13-year-old child, who witnessed the incident, not to tell anybody.
Teoxon said the suspect was arrested at about 3 p.m. yesterday at Hacienda Romeo in Brgy. Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla, almost 13 hours after the incident.
Teoxon also said, the 13-year-old child of the Legaspi couple, was traumatized by the incident.
She added that the suspect denied that he had killed his wife.
In Brgy. Linaon, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, Jose Rey Tawtawan, 44, was declared dead on arrival at the Cauayan District Hospital, after he was stabbed, allegedly by his own brother, Freddie, on Monday.
Investigations of the Cauayan police showed that the victim, his brother, Joebert, and Andrew Moradas, were having a drinking spree, when the suspect, Freddie, arrived.
The suspect, who was armed with a knife, stabbed Jose Rey in the chest, the Cauayan police said.
The victim, was able to pull the knife out from his chest, and retaliated by hacking Freddie, who managed to escape, despite his injury in the neck.
Jose Rey, however, died, while he was being brought to the Cauayan District Hospital.*GPB
