Fire hits 9 houses

Fire hit nine houses in Purok 3, Lampirong, Magsungay in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, at about 7:40 p.m. Saturday.

Four of the houses were destroyed and five were damaged, a report from the Bacolod Bureau of Fire Protection, showed.

No one died due to the fire but a certain DalisayMercurio experienced difficulty of breathing, the BFP report said.

The initial cause of fire was an unattended lighted candle in the house of Gilbert Layan, the BFP said.

The fire destroyed P200,000 worth of properties. It was put out at about 8:36 p.m.

The houses were mostly made of light materials, a report from Bacolod City Police Office said.*SGG
