Governor renews contracts of
essential job order workers
BY SHIELA GELERA

The Bureau of Fire Protection personnel inspected 60 call center firms in Bacolod City, Thursday and yesterday.

Newly-installed Bacolod fire marshal Chief Insp. Publio Ploteña said yesterday that the inspection will evaluate whether the firms are complying with fire safety rules, in view of the NCCC Mall fire incident in Davao City.

The tragic incident at NCCC Mall Davaoon December 23 resulted in the death of 38 workers.

Ploteña said they inspected small and big call center firms in the city, that had already been issued certificates last year to check if they have complied with the Fire Safety regulations.

The inspection of call center firms, which is a priority, is more on evaluation as ordered by Bacolod Mayor EvelioLeonardia and the memorandum from BFP national headquarters to prevent similar fire incident such on the one in Davao last month, Ploteña added.*SGG
