Duterte mobile clinic launched
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

A group of volunteers have launched the Duterte's Mobile Kitchen to feed the poor and under-privileged in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

Ging Lewis, head organizer of Duterte's Kitchen - Negros Occidental, said the mobile kitchen will be in Bacolod City from January 4 to 15 to feed the poor with hot Arroz Caldo (porridge).

They are scheduled to hold a caravan in different towns and cities in the province before proceeding to Mindanao, she said.

Lewis said the Duterte's Mobile Kitchen was launched last March 10, 2017 in Bacolod City, replicating the national feeding program of the President.

They conducted a feeding program at Burgos- Lopez Jaena streets in Brgy. 27 and the Ceres South terminal Thursday and in Barangays 1, 2, 3 and 4 yesterday, she said.

They will be in Cadiz City on Sunday, Sagay City on Monday; Silay City on Tuesday; Talisay City on Wednesday; Pulupandan on Thursday and Kabankalan City on Friday, Lewis said.

They are able to feed about 300 people every time they conduct a mobile feeding program, she said.

Cadiz and Kabankalan have been holding feeding programs every week to feed hundreds of people, she added.

Lewis said they accept donations in kind to be given to the underprivileged. They do not accept cash but have benefactors from Manila who send them sacks of rice and other food stuff.

From Bacolod, the mobile kitchen will proceed to Dumaguete, Zamboanga Del Norte, Lanao Del Norte and Cagayan De Oro, she said.*CGS
